Cherry Crisp
1 1/2 c. brown sugar
1 1/2 c. oatmeal
1 1/2 c. flour
2/3 c. shortening or butter (I use butter)
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/8 tsp. salt
2 (21 oz) can cherry pie filling
mix dry ingredients and shortening until crumbly. Pat half of mixture into a greased 9 x 13 " pan. Spread cherry filling over this, then top with other half of crumbly mixture and pat down lightly. Bake 35 minutes in preheated 350 degree oven.
We love to eat this warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or drizzle fresh whip cream on top. Yum!!

Eggs In A Frame
1 slice bread
Butter
1 egg
Salt and pepper to taste
Cut out center with biscuit cutter, or fun shaped cookie cutter. Butter bread generously on both sides.
Brown bread "frame" on one side in moderately hot buttered frying pan. Turn over.
Drop egg into center of bread "frame." Cook slowly until egg white is set. (Cover pan until white starts to set.) Sprinkle lightly with salt and/or pepper. Lift out with pancake turner and serve.

30 Minute Breadsticks
1 pkg. active dry yeast
1 Tbls. honey
1 1/2 c. warm water (115 degrees)
1 tsp. salt
3-4 1/2 c. flour
1 egg, beaten
Optional Seasonings: Garlic Salt, Sesame seeds, Poppy seeds, Parmesan Cheese, Salad Supreme
In a large mixing bowl soften yeast and honey in warm water. Add salt; blend. Add flour gradually, blending in until dough pulls away from sides of bowl and forms a ball. Divide dough into 24 pieces. Roll each piece between hands to make sticks about 10 inches long (about 1/2" in diameter). Place crosswise on 2 large greased baking sheets, not touching so sides will be crispier, (Dough can be divided into 12 pieces and placed on one pan to make thicker and softer sticks.) brush with beaten egg; sprinkle with desired seasonings. Allow to rise 10-15 minutes, if desired, but not necessary. Bake in a preheated 400 degree oven 10-15 minutes until browned.
These REALLY were quick bread sticks. However, next time I will smother them with butter and Garlic salt. Mine lacked a little in flavor. But once again...they were quick. I think we were all a little disappointed because they looked just like Olive Garden's Breadsticks, but they didn't taste like it. Boo!
Meat Marinade
1/4 c. oil
1/3 c. vinegar
2 onions diced
6 garlic cloves minced
3 Tbls. soy sauce
3 Tbls. brown sugar
1/2 tsp. pepper
Marinade meat (steak, chicken, etc.) for 4-24 hours.

Szechuan Chicken
1 lb. pre-cooked chicken, cubed or shredded
4 tablespoons water
2 tablespoon ketchup
1 tablespoon soy sauce
2 teaspoon cornstarch
1 teaspoon honey
½ teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
¼ teaspoon ground ginger
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
¼ cup green onions (sliced)
4 garlic cloves (minced)
Optional: We also added peas and carrots to the meal.
Step 1: In a small bowl mix together water, ketchup, soy sauce, cornstarch, honey, crushed red pepper flakes and ginger.
Step 2: Heat oil in a wok over medium-high heat. Add green onions and garlic. Stir fry for 30 seconds. Add chicken and toss to coat with oil. Pour in sauce. Heat while sitting until sauce is thick and bubbly.
Serve with Rice
I thought this meal was fabulous! However... next time I think I'll double the sauce.
Mango-A-Go-Go Smoothie
1 Cup passion fruit / mango juice (I found a can of mango juice in the Mexican Food Isle)
1 Cup pineapple sherbet
1 1/2 Cups frozen mango (I used fresh mango)
1/2 Cup ice
Pour measured amount of liquid into blender.
Yum! I needed a refreshing smoothie today, and this just seemed to hit the spot! my kids really enjoyed it too. We didn't think this made near enough! Next time we'll double the recipe.
Pizza Cheese On Toast
Slice of Bread
Shredded Cheese
Pizza or Spaghetti Sauce
Pepperoni or other topping
Spread pizza or spaghetti sauce on top of bread. Sprinkle cheese on top. Add favorite toppings. Broil in oven until toasted and cheese is melted.

Dutch Oven Stew
1 lb. stew meat
5 potatoes, chopped
5 carrots, chopped
1 onion, chopped
3 stalks of celery, chopped
2 cans green beans (also add the juice)
1 can corn (also add the juice)
Large can of chopped tomato's
Large can on tomato soup or two reg. cans of tomato soup
Salt & Pepper to taste

In the dutch oven saute the celery, onion, and stew meat in a few tablespoons of oil. Cook until celery and onions are tender. "Dump" the rest of the ingredients into the dutch oven. Add coals on top and around the dutch over and cook until potatoes and carrots are cooked (and make sure the meat is also cooked thoroughly). If you think you need a little more liquid, you can add milk or water.

* 1/2 cup of milk (We used 1/4 heavy cream & 1/4 c. milk)
* Crushed ice
* 8 tablespoons ice-cream salt(rock salt)
*Optional: Any add in (Oreo's, Strawberries, Peanut Butter, Graham crackers etc.)
Preparation:
In a small seal top plastic bag, pour milk (& cream if you want), 1 tablespoon sugar, 1/4 teaspoon vanilla. Close the bag and place in a gallon-size seal top bag. Add some crushed ice and 8 tablespoons of ice cream salt(rock salt). Close the top and shake being careful not to bust the bags. You could also add about a tablespoon of your favorite add in ... yummy!
We went camping this weekend with my sister, brother-in-law and kids. We made "camping" Ice cream. It turned out delicious! The kids did complain a little about their hands being cold. But once parents took over, it soon turned into ice cream. We added the ice cream on top of our peach cobbler.
